Join Us for a Special Event on Low Vision Driving Awareness
May 1 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Free
The MedRVA Foundation and Boy Scout Troop 876 invite you to join them for a spaghetti dinner and low vision driving awareness event. The goal is to raise awareness about low vision driving opportunities. This in-person event will provide valuable information and resources for individuals with low vision who are navigating the challenges of driving. Whether you are personally affected or interested in learning more, this event is open to all. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to educate yourself and support a local Eagle Scout project.
Celebrate the inspiring journey of Grayson Flournoy, a local Eagle Scout and teen from Midlothian, who didn’t let vision challenges stand in the way of getting his driver’s license. Born with albinism and low vision, Grayson partnered with the MedRVA Low Vision Center and, with help from his grandfather and Dr. Jamie Pucci, found a unique way to use bioptic telescope glasses—paving the road to independence.
Come learn about the aids, technology, and support systems available to help individuals with low vision drive safely and confidently. Be inspired by Grayson’s story, and help raise awareness for a more inclusive future on the road!
